The same double-layer cotton gauze we make the bedding from, cut and hemmed as a table cloth. Two fine layers of cotton caught together so the cloth holds an airy crinkle — woven in, not a finish that washes out — and falls off the edge of a table rather than standing away from it.

It is the cloth that never needs ironing. Wash it, shake it out, put it down: the texture is the point, so there is nothing to press and nothing to steam. What it will not do is sit hard and flat the way a banquet cloth does. If a pressed, uniform surface is what the room needs, this is the wrong cloth.

Sizes are the finished cloth. The table each one covers is given at a 15 cm drop.

  • 135 x 180 cm: a table up to about 105 x 150 cm. Seats 4-6.
  • 135 x 240 cm: a table up to about 105 x 210 cm. Seats 6-8.
  • 135 x 300 cm: a table up to about 105 x 270 cm. Seats 8-10.
  • 180 x 300 cm: a wide table up to about 150 x 270 cm. Seats 10-12.
  • 135 x 135 cm: a square or round table up to about 105 cm. Seats 4.
  • 150 x 150 cm: a square or round table up to about 120 cm. Seats 4-6.
  • 180 x 180 cm: a square or round table up to about 150 cm. Seats 6-8.

On a round table the corners hang lower than the sides. That is how a square cloth sits on a round top, and it is the look most people are after; if you want an even hem the whole way round, say so and we will cut a circle.
