Modal Cloud
Modal Cloud is the fabric most of our sleepwear is made from: 95% modal spun from beech pulp, 5% elastane, knitted to a weight that drapes rather than clings.
This journal is everything we know about it. How the fibre is made and why it comes out finer than cotton. Why it recovers from creasing without an iron, and what that means for packing. How it handles heat and moisture on a warm night. How it compares with pure cotton, with silk, and with the cheap polyester "satin" it is often shelved beside.
And the practical half: how to wash, dry and store a modal set so it stays soft for years rather than seasons, and which mistakes take the drape out of it permanently.
